Cultural Action

Discover the world of Company La Machine and develop projects around art, technology and imagination at the Halle of La Machine.

Since its opening in 2018, the Halle of La Machine has been carrying out actions with schools and local society. By setting up on the old airmail runway, Company La Machine is part of the legend of great explorations by transforming public space while questioning what the city is. François Delaroziere inscribes his artistic gesture there by advocating movement as a language and source of emotions.

The Office of Beautiful Encounters at the Halle of La Machine, through concrete and personalised actions, mediates this artistic gesture with the public every day by developing a wide diversity of cultural mediation actions, co-constructed with the social and cultural actors of the neighborhood, city or region.

For example, Halle of La Machine develops a wide variety of projects :

projets for all

It’s never too early to discover the mechanical stables of the Halle de la Machine!

The early childhood circuit is aimed at nurseries and early childhood establishments in the Toulouse area. During three sensory sessions, little ones discover the Halle’s machines through touch, hearing and sight.

French Sign Language tours are organised every third Saturday of the month by Veritable Signing Deaf Machinists. As part of the Mecanik Paradize festival, five vibrating vests were made available to deaf and hard of hearing people, allowing them to fully enjoy the concerts.

The Halle of la Machine and the Léo Lagrange Federation are collaborating on the “Small Mechanics, Big Movements” project; a journey around the mechanisms of the machines presented through the Suitcase of Small Mechanics*. This 4-year project aims to develop actions in the region with CLAE and ADL in Toulouse.

territory Projects

Once a month, a group of young amateur musicians from the Ramonville Music School meets at the Halle to follow a workshop with Mino Malan around the machines of the Mechanical Symphony. The objective of these workshops is not only to learn how to manipulate the machines of the Mechanical Symphony but also to associate this new practice with that of their instruments.

The Small Mechanics Suitcases are educational tools allowing you to understand some of the moving mechanisms that can be found on machines: pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders, pinions, transmission rods, endless screws, etc.

These suitcases were created as part of a cultural action project with DSAA students from the Rive Gauche high school.

In March 2023, five young people from the La Cale home attended construction workshops led by two Veritable Machinists. These workshops allowed young people to discover the process of creating a machine: from discovering the machines at the Halle through their manipulation to designing their own machine (function of the machine, sketches, design from recycled materials , handling).
